Piano Babies have been around since the late 19th century. They stayed popular until the early 20th century. Most of these figures were made in Germany. They are bisque figures that resemble babies. Some have babies smiling while others have them eating or playing.
Piano babies are still collectable today, but not as much as before. They were very big in the 1980s and 1990s. The prices go up when they are signed. One of the most popular names was Heubach. Many reproductions have been made in later years. They are not worth much.
